Anthony Levander
Owner/Funeral Director
Tony is a third generation funeral director and also grew up in Albion. He graduated from Albion High School in 1999. Tony subsequently attended Chadron State College, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology and Chemistry. In August 2006, he earned an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Mortuary Science from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado.
Tony married Nicole Kyncl and they are parents of three children: Emily, Blake and Brynn. They live in Albion, NE and are active in their church and communities. They members of Zion Lutheran Church where Nicole has served on the church council, and is also involved in the PTO. Tony is a volunteer fire fighter and EMT, serving on both Albion Fire & Rescue as well as Elgin Rescue Squad. They have been active in the Elgin Ko-ed Group and Elgin Community Club. Tony is a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Riders. In his free time, Tony enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In addition, he enjoys many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and spending time at the lake. He also has a passion for flying, having earned his private pilot's license in 2018.

Drew Schaefer
Funeral Director
Drew James Schaefer, is a first generation funeral director. He was born and raised in Norfolk, NE, and graduated from Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk in 2007. He attended Northeast Community College and graduated with an Associates of Art Degree in Pre-Mortuary Science. In 2010 Drew earned his Associate of Applied Science degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, graduating cum lade. Following graduation, he moved back to Norfolk where he served his apprenticeship with Home for Funerals.
In July of 2011 Drew received his funeral director and embalmer’s license and moved to Albion where he started working for Levander Funeral Homes. He resides in Albion with his wife Kim and their daughters Mckenna and Evelyne.
Drew is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, a firefighter/emt with the Albion Volunteer Fire Department, a Charter Member of the Sons of the American Legion, and a Charter Member of the American Legion Riders of Albion.
Drew enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycles, hunting and fishing, raising and taking care of his animals, working around his home, and helping and getting to know the people of Albion.

Danielle “Dee” Schalk, a first generation funeral director grew up in Cedar Rapids, NE and graduated from high school in 1994. She attended Wayne State College and finished up her Bachelors degree in Mortuary Science at Kansas City Kansas Community College in Kansas City, KS. Following graduation in 1998 she began her apprenticeship at Levander Funeral Home. Dee worked with Levander’s for 12 before making a slight change in her career. For six years she raised her kids, coached, and volunteered for many of their activities, along with working in insurance and Long Term Care. In August of 2016 Dee returned to the funeral profession at Levander Funeral Home.
Dee and her husband Joel, and three children: Grace, Hope, and Dane reside in Cedar Rapids, NE where they are members of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Dee currently serves on the Riverside School Board.
In her spare time Dee enjoys spending time with her family and attending her kids school and sporting events.

He attended the University of Northern Colorado and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Ron continued his education at the University of Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science. Following graduation, he returned to Albion where he worked with his father, Mel. In 1985, Ron and his wife Mary purchased the Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward. In 1989, he became President of Levander Funeral Home, Inc. of Albion and Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Ron and Mary are parents of four adult children -- Chris, Tony, Scott, and Lisa. Ron is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. Additionally, he is a member and past president of the Albion Chamber of Commerce and Albion Lion’s Club. A pilot since 1980, Ron is Chairman of the Albion Airport Authority, a past President of the Flying Funeral Directors of America and served in all positions on the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association Board of Directors.

Dean Henn
Retired Funeral Service Associate
Dean Henn and his wife Mary have lived in the Elgin/Petersburg area most of their lives. Dean was a banker for the Bank of Elgin for 35 years before retiring. Dean began working for Rick Huffman in the 1960's as an ambulance driver and has continued to assist in many facets of the funeral home since his retirement from the bank.
Dean retired from his role as a funeral service associate at the end of 2018.

Mark and his wife Ellen (Henn) have lived in the Elgin area where they have worked and raised their family. Mark was a rural mail carrier in the Elgin and Petersburg communites until retiring at the end of December 2018.
Following his retirement, Mark began helping as a funeral service assitant.
