Waneta "Neta" M. Long-Bagger, 82 of Albion, NE passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society-Albion.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Albion with Rev. Janet Burgel officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Women's Group, 190 N. 4 th St., Newman Grove, NE, 68758. The family is being assisted by Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.
Waneta "Neta" Mae Long-Bagger was born August 9, 1937 and raised in Mason City, Iowa by her parents Lester Carl and Blanche (Nelson) Bailey. In addition to her parents, Neta was also predeceased by her husband Richard Lawrence Bagger; her brother Robert Bailey and first husband Arlyn Lavern Long.
Neta loved the lord and was a member of the United Methodist Church. She attended community college where she attained a teaching degree and then worked as a special needs teacher. Neta lived on a farm for a while in Iowa with her husband Arlyn and had four boys. She worked as a social worker in Mason City, IA and in 1983 remarried to Richard Bagger and moved to Newman Grove, NE. Neta worked in the school cafeteria and retired with Rich to Iowa. After five years, they moved back to Albion.
Neta is survived by her sister Margaret Bryant (Seth); sister-in-law Myrt (Bailey) Hamblen, four sons: Brian Long (Darlene); Doug Long (Laura); Mark Long (Amy); Matthew Long; step-children: Bob Bauer (Linda), Brenda Bagger Tomlin, and Brian Bagger; grandchildren: Jennifer Stanley (Nate), Kyle Long, Michael Long (Katie), Tymber Long, Mikaela Long, Sydney Long, Skylar Long, Sophie Long; five step-grandchildren; and great grandson Ethan Long.
