Virginia Ann Worden

Virginia Ann Worden, 72, of St. Edward, NE passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Bryan West Medical Center, Lincoln, NE

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward, NE with Fr. Bill L'Heureux and Deacon Harlan Long officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia Ann Worden, daughter of Michael J. and Marie F. (Sullivan) Pfeifer was born July 27, 1951, in Spalding, NE. She received the sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, NE. Virginia attended Spalding Academy and graduated with the class of 1969.

On August 23, 1969, Virginia was united in marriage to the love of her life Donald "Butch" William Worden at St. Michael's Catholic in Spalding, NE. They made their home 2 ½ miles West of St. Edward, NE. Virgina was a true farm wife. She helped Butch on the farm and took care of the household on top of working at Werts G.W. for 25 years as a clerk and produce manager.

Virginia was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church from 1951 -1969 and St. Edward Catholic Church from 1969 till her death. She was a part of St. Margaret Mary's Altar Society and parish council. She was the past president of both organizations. Virginia also taught CCD for 18 years at St. Edward Catholic Church and was on a bowling league for many years.

Virginia loved her nieces and nephews very much. She enjoyed spending time with them and making lifelong memories. She also loved her fur babies.

Virginia is survived by her two brothers: Mike (Darlina) Pfeifer of Spalding, NE; Patrick Pfeifer of Lomis, NE; sister: Rita (Tom) Schaaf of Stuart, NE, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Butch, and her sister Jane Royle.
