Virginia Storm

Virginia Storm, 97, of Albion, NE, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Mary Virginia Storm, daughter of Walter and Margaret (Vaughn) Wynne, was born on March 5, 1927, at Islip, Long Island, New York. She was baptized on April 5, 1952, and then confirmed on April 6, 1952, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yutan, NE. Virginia went to grade school at Central Park in Omaha, NE before graduating from Omaha North High School in January of 1945. Following high school, she attended Omaha University from 1947 to 1951 where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked at Mutual of Omaha from 1945 to 1948.

On August 18, 1951, Virginia married the love of her life, Melvin Storm at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. They made their home in Mead, NE from 1951 until 1954. In 1955, they moved to the farm southeast of Albion where they lived, farmed and raised their four children.

Virginia was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yutan, NE from 1951 to 1955. She then became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. She enjoyed making birthday cakes for her grandchildren, sewing, embroidery, taking drives, and going for rides around the farms. Above all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her four children: Allene Storm of Columbus, NE; Darrell Storm of Albion, NE; Madelyn (Dan) Shotkoski of St. Edward, NE; Douglas Storm of Albion, NE; six grandchildren: Angela Storm of Lincoln, NE; Mark Shotkoski of St. Edward, NE; Ronald Shotkoski of St. Edward, NE; Chad (Lindsey) Storm of Kearney, NE; Stephanie (Brandon) Storm (Rice) of Omaha, NE; Abbey (Cody) Peterson of Springfield, SD; 17 great-grandchildren: Brenden; Kash; Caden; Peydin; Bentley; Zaiden; Charlie; Tyson; Kayson; Glen; Jordan; Raelynn; Emiley; Addyson; Avalynn; Sutton; and Jett; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin in 2019; parents; brother: Donald (Dolores) Wynne; sister-in-law: Rogene (LaVon) Schoening; and brother-in-law: Leonard (Marian) Storm.
