Vincent A. Langer, 85, of Spalding Nebraska passed away on November 30, 2020 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, NE.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Spalding, NE with Fr. Antony Thekkekara officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the James Kessler American Legion Post #299 of Spalding, NE. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, NE. Current Covid-19 DHM's in effect, including social distancing, will be followed at the visitation and masks will be required.
Levander Funeral Home of Spalding, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
Vincent A. Langer, son of Joseph E. Langer, and Amelia K. Langer (Glaser) was born February 24, 1935, along with twin brother Victor A. Langer in Spalding Nebraska. Vincent was baptized in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spalding. He attended District 4 country school 8 years, then graduated from Spalding Academy in 1953. Following graduation, he continued to farm the family farm, along with working at the Spalding livestock market, and later at the Spalding feed mill for many years. Leaving the farm only in 1958 and 1959 when he was drafted into the Army along with his twin brother Victor. Upon completion of his time in the Army, he returned to the farm, and started a cow-calf operation.
Vincent married Jude Ann Valasek at St. Michaels Catholic Church on December 10, 1993. They continued to farm, while Jude worked as a nurse's aide at the Spalding hospital and later as a home health care aid. They were life-time members of the St. Michaels Catholic Church, and Vince was a member of the Men's Club.
Vincent was the last member of the Langer family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph 1958, and Amelia 1974; wife Jude Ann Langer 2015; brothers Richard 2012 and Victor 2013; also, a brother Benedict Anthony 1934 and sister Anna Elizabeth 1930 who both died shortly after birth.
Vincent is survived by two nephews: Greg (Lisa) and Thomas (Debora); two nieces: Lori (Lance) and Catherine (Brian) Fischer all of Colorado; two stepsons and six stepdaughters.
