Verna Anne Broberg, daughter of E. Walter and Gertrude (Carlson) Lindgren was born on February 25, 1942 in Valley City, ND.  Her father pastored churches in North Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota during Verna's growing up years.  As a young girl, Verna desired to become a Christian and she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her own personal Savior.

Verna graduated from High School in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1960.  In 1964 she graduated from Trinity College in Chicago and spent the next three years teaching elementary school in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  In 1967 Verna went to Japan to teach at the Christian Academy in Japan, near Tokyo.  After four years in Japan, she spent her furlough year in the United States and traveled to various churches in the Midwest and gave her presentation of her work in Japan.

At the Rose Hill Evangelical Free Church, rural Newman Grove, NE, Verna met Clinton Broberg.  The couple became acquainted the summer of 1972.  Although interested in each other, they both very much wanted to obey the leading of the Lord and not stray from His plan for their lives.

Verna returned to Japan to again assume her duties in that land.  The couple exchanged letters by mail and prayed much about their futures.  They reached the conclusion that to be married was the correct path to follow.  They were married on September 22, 1973 at Oakland, NE.  The couple spent their entire married life living in the Newman Grove area.  As time passed, Verna experienced health needs that required a reduced level of involvements.  However, she yet gave herself as diligently as possible to her tasks.  Verna was kind and caring, devoted and diligent.  Clint and Verna chose as their life's Bible verse Ephesians 4:32 "and be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you."

Today Verna is rejoicing in the presence of her Blessed Savior.  Clint awaits the day when he will again join her in Glory and for eternity, they will sing praises unto Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.

Verna is survived by her husband Clint of Newman Grove, NE; sister-in-law Suzanne Lindgren of Lexington, KY; brothers-in-law: Robert Broberg of Tilden, NE; Gordon (Delores) Broberg of rural Newman Grove, NE; along with several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: James (Annette) Lindgren and John Lindgren; sister-in-law: Gwynette Broberg; and nephew Robert Lindgren.
