Udine L. Sindelar

Udine L. Sindelar, 89 of St. Edward, NE passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Matt Gutowski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, at the church.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Udine Loy Sindelar, daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Engberg) Fisher, was born on November 7, 1935, in Milford, NE. She attended St. Edward Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1953.

On September 3, 1956, Udine was united in marriage to John "Jack" W. Sindelar at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. From this union, she was blessed with five children. The couple first made their home in Cedar Rapids, where they helped Jack's parents operate the family bar for two years before moving to Columbus. In 1961, they settled in St. Edward, where they raised their family.

Udine worked at Medlin Law Office in Albion, NE before becoming an entrepreneur, owning and operating the Frostee, a Cake Shop and Udine's Bridal Shop. She brought creativity, dedication, and care to all she did.

Faith and community were central to Udine's life. She was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church, participating in the altar society, church choir, and teaching catechism. Beyond her church, she served her community as a Girl Scout troop leader, Cub Scout leader, and member of the community club, city council, and Boone County Development Agency.

Udine loved the holidays, especially baking Christmas cookies and decorating for all of the holiday seasons. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and took great pride in caring for them throughout her life.

She is survived by her four children: Michael (Dianne) Sindelar, Douglas Sindelar, David (Ruby) Sindelar, and Pam Scheiber, all of St. Edward; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild: along with several nieces, nephews, and many dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jack in 2015; son: Terry in 2022; one brother: Ted Fisher; her parents-in-law; and sister-in-law: Kay Sindelar.
