Twila Dee Koetter, daughter of Delaine and Marjorie (Molt) Briese was born on January 5, 1964 at Columbus, NE. She was baptized on March 8, 1964 and confirmed on April 30, 1978 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. She attended school at Boone County District 13 and graduated from Albion High School in 1982. Twila then attended the Patricia Stevens College of Marketing and Advertising in Omaha, NE. Following her schooling, she worked at the Holiday Inn in Grand Island before moving to Indianola, NE where she worked at the Bank of Indianola. In 1984, Twila moved to McCook where she worked various jobs including night manager at the motel, hostess at the Coppermill restaurant, advertising for Early Bird Magazine and still found time to help CK Swanson with his farming operation. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Greg.
On June 21, 1986, Twila was united in marriage to Gregory Koetter and two months later the couple moved to Albion, NE. Twila worked as a bartender at several establishments including the Villa Inn and Billy Bob's Bar, along with doing bookkeeping. In the fall of 1987, they moved to the farm and started helping her father with his farming operation until taking it over in 2000. Twila loved the farm and enjoyed working side by side with her husband for 37 years. They also did custom planting and harvesting for other local farmers for many years.
Twila was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed life on the farm with her family. She was a hostess at heart and loved to cook for all kinds of occasions. She enjoyed card parties, pond parties, ranger rides, dancing, or any other time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the times that included their family from Kentucky. In her younger years, Twila loved spending time at the lake boating and water skiing. She was an avid collector of Coke memorabilia and antiques, loved her pets and animals in general. She was a faith-filled person who enjoyed being in nature where she felt closest to God. Her favorite movie was Stigmata because she felt it very much represented her relationship with her Lord.
She is survived by her husband Greg of Albion, NE; four children: Aisha of Columbus, NE; Tayla (Shawn) Rasmussen of Albion, NE; Trevor (Katelyn) Koetter of Albion, NE; Mason Koetter of Burwell, NE; four grandchildren: Corbin, Ember, and Gregory Rasmussen, and Daisy Koetter, all of Albion, NE, along with a Baby Koetter on the way; two siblings: Todd (Shelia) Briese of Nebraska City; Tami (Neal) Bracht of West Point; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Twila was preceded in death by her parents Delaine and Marge Briese; her grandparents: Emil and Martha Briese and Glen and Christina Molt; and an aunt Marlene Schuster.
