Timothy V. Reardon

Timothy V. Reardon, 79 of St. Edward, NE died Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at home surrounded by family, following a battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Bill L'Heureux officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Timothy Vincent Reardon, son of Barney and Florence (Hoadley) Reardon, was born February 15, 1942 at Monroe, NE. He was baptized at St. John's Church in rural Platte County and later moved with his family to a farm east of St. Edward, NE. He was confirmed at St. Edward Catholic Church, attended rural Platte County District 59, and graduated from St. Edward High School. After high school, Tim served a stint in the US Army National Guard, before returning home to work as a farm hand for the Choats and other area farmers, while getting going. For several years, he also worked at D&L in Columbus during the winter months.

On October 25, 1969, Tim married Nancy Tieman at St Edward Catholic Church. They made their home on a farm southeast of St. Edward where Tim farmed and raised livestock while they raised their six children: Jill, Jean, Joe, Connie, Doug, and Nancy Jo.

Tim was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and served on the Woodville Township Board. He was a great listener, always empathetic, and yet was always willing to share a helpful piece of advice. Church, Family and Farming were his life. He felt he never worked a day in his life because he loved what he did. He was the rock for his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; six children: Jill (David) Roberts of St. Edward, NE: Jean (Jim) Keber of Spalding, NE; Joe (Angie) Reardon of Lindsay, NE; Connie (Scott) Miller of Albion, NE; Doug (Rebecca) Reardon of Fullerton, NE; Nancy Jo Novak of Columbus, NE; one brother Tom (Deanna) Reardon of Genoa, NE; one sister Celine Klassen of Omaha, NE; one brother-in-law Keith (Nancy) Tieman of Alma, NE; 24 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents Barney and Florence Reardon; three brothers: Dan, Norm and Bill Reardon; and his in-laws: Elmer and Marie Tieman.
