Terry Charles Radenslaben Sr.

Terry C. Radenslaben, Sr., 77, of Newman Grove, NE, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove, NE with Deacon Claire Meyer officiating. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. at Indian Mound Cemetery, Ithaca, NE. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Levander Funeral Home of Newman Grove, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Terry Charles Radenslaben, Sr. was born in Lincoln, NE on September 12, 1946, to Charles and Edith (Steel) Radenslaben. Terry went to Mead High School and graduated with the class of 1964. Following high school, he attended Nebraska Wesleyan graduating with his bachelors in 1968 followed by Wayne State College for his Masters.

On June 11, 1966, Terry married Diane Frahm at Yutan, NE. The couple lived in Underwood, IA from 1968-1969, Crystal Lake, IA from 1969 -1979, before moving to Newman Grove, NE in 1979.

Terry was a teacher for over 40 years, the last 29 being in Newman Grove. He taught math and was a guidance counselor. Along with being a teacher, Terry also coached football and cross country. Following his retirement from teaching, Terry worked at West Lumber and was a grain cart driver for Wallin Brothers when needed.

Terry had a strong appreciation for his community. He was a member of the Newman Grove Fire and Rescue for 15 years along with being the fire chief and rescue captain for many of those years. He was also a first aid/CPR instructor, member of the civil defense, hunter safety instructor, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he had previously served on the church council.

During his free time Terry enjoyed gardening, pheasant hunting, woodworking, farming, going to the farmers market, watching baseball – especially the Twins and the Huskers, and watching the Packers and Huskers football teams. He loved getting together with family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his wife of 57 years: Diane Radenslaben of Newman Grove, NE; mother: Edith Radenslaben of Newman Grove, NE; son: Terry (Angie) Radenslaben, Jr. of Elkhorn, NE; daughter: Tammy (Rob) Hitt of Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren: Lucas Jedlicka of Ankeny, IA; Allison (Colin) Crumrine of Ankeny, IA; Jared Hitt of Rapid City, SD; Jasmine Hitt of Portland, OR; brother: David (Deb) Radenslaben of Cedar Bluffs, NE; two sisters: Mary Lou (Mike) Olson of Osmond, NE; Sally Jo (Bruce) Reisser of Norfolk, NE; brother-in-law: Bill Frahm of Yutan, NE; three sisters-in-law: Pat Frahm of Mead, NE; Kathy Frahm of Mead, NE; Joan Frahm of Yutan, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; infant son: Timothy Allen; father: Charles Radenslaben; parents-in-law: William and Caroline Frahm.
