Steven John Roan, 44, of Cedar Rapids, NE, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Nance County, Nebraska.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2020 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE.  There will be a private family graveside service at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, NE. Social distancing and current Covid-19 DHM's effective will be followed at the visitation.

Levander Funeral Home of Cedar Rapids, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Steven John Roan, son of John Michael and Marilyn Kay (Bourn) Roan, was born February 25, 1976 at Albion, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE, attended grade school at Rural District #9 and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1994. Steve was active in everything livestock and sports. He was active in 4-H and FFA, along with football, wrestling, track and baseball.

On December 29, 1995, Steve married Jodi Lynn Martinsen at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. They were blessed with four children: Tyler, Mariah, Kenzie and Noel. They lived in the Cedar Rapids and St. Paul, NE areas while Steve was involved in farming and raising livestock. The couple divorced in November 2013 yet were able to remain friends and raise their children. Steve moved to Cedar Rapids and in recent years worked for the Veterinary Clinic in St. Paul.

Steve loved to work. He enjoyed being outdoors and staying active. His children and grandchildren, along with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, were all very important to him. He enjoyed visiting and sharing stories with his friends and was always willing to help a person in need.

Steve is survived by his children: Tyler Roan (fiancé Braya Prince) of Cairo, NE; Mariah (Brock) Leslie of Spalding, NE; Kenzie Roan of Lincoln, NE; Noel Roan of St. Paul, NE; three grandchildren: Tynlee Roan, Lyla Leslie and Baby Leslie on the way; parents: Jack and Marilyn Roan of Cedar Rapids, NE; brothers: Greg Roan of Grand Island, NE; Dennis (Brenda) Roan, Andy Roan, Matt (Sasha) Roan, all of Cedar Rapids, NE; along with aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey John Roan; maternal and paternal grandparents; an aunt Pat Beister; three uncles Julian Roan, Richard Roan and Clyde Bourn; and two cousins David Roan and Richie Roan.
