Stanley L. Sojka

Stanley L. Sojka, 92 of Norfolk, NE passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, rural Clearwater, NE, with Rev. Louis Sojka officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, rural Ewing, NE. Visitation will be 7:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Neligh, NE, with a 8:00 p.m. wake service.

Huffman-Levander Funeral Home of Elgin, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Louis Sojka was born July 22, 1926 to Louis and Stephania (Ciapierzynska) Sojka near Page, NE. He grew up on a farm near Ewing, NE, graduated from the eighth grade at District #146 southwest of Ewing and graduated from Tech High School in Omaha, NE, before returning to the Ewing area to farm.

On June 12, 1950, Stanley married Kathryn Theresa Koenig at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Deloit Township. Stanley and Kathryn made their home southwest of Ewing where they farmed and raised their children Rose Marie, Beverly, Stanley, Julie, Barbara, Ted, Mary and Tom. Kathryn passed away on April 19, 1989 and shortly after, Stanley retired to Neligh, NE.

On October 3, 1992 Stanley married Kathryn Koenig Molt. They resided in Neligh and Albion, NE while they enjoyed traveling, playing pitch, visiting family and friends, dancing, watching Judge Judy, westerns and detective shows. Stanley loved people and liked joking around with them. He had a passion for cattle and enjoyed taking drives around the country. In 2013, Stanley's health forced him to move to Norfolk, NE and in 2014 he entered Heritage of Bel Air.

He is survived by his 2 ^nd wife Kathryn Koenig Molt Sojka of Albion, NE; his children: Rose (Richard) Stehno of South Jordan, Utah; Beverly Sojka of Omaha, NE; Stanley Sojka of Ewing, NE; Julie (Doug) Ryan of Lincoln, NE; Ted Sojka of Omaha, NE; Mary (Bill) Langenberg of Hoskins, NE; Tom (Patty) Sojka of Norfolk, NE; son-in-law Chuck Thiele of Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Dr. Louis (Jackie) Sojka, Omaha, NE; along with other relatives and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; 1 ^st wife Kathryn, infant sons: (twins) Stephen and Stanley; daughter: Barbara Sojka Thiele; brother: Julian Sojka; sister: Sofie Schmidt.
