Shirley A. Noble, 90 of Albion, NE, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society, Albion, NE.
There will be private family services with burial at Bonanza Akron Cemetery, Akron, NE. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE. Masks are encouraged, social distancing and Covid-19 DHM's will be followed at the visitation.
Levander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Shirley Ann Noble, daughter of John David and Wilma Lucille (Spaulding) Williams was born September 23, 1929 on the family farm west of Albion, NE. Shirley attended Maple Hill District #40 through the 8 th grade and then graduated from Albion High School in 1943 with a normal training certificate to teach 3 years. She took classes at Wayne State College to enable her to teach a 4 th year, all at District 24 Dennison School from 1947-1951. She was Baptized at the Albion Baptist Church in 1944 by her uncle Sumner Spaulding.
Shirley was united in marriage to Earvin Noble on October 7, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Albion. They farmed and raised their three boys in the Akron community. Shirley helped on the farm milking cows and raising chickens. Earvin and Shirley moved into Albion in July of 1989.
Earvin and Shirley joined the Akron Presbyterian Church in 1971, where Shirley was Clerk of Session for 24 years. Shirley was a member of the Akron Women's BPI Club from 1971 until the club dissolved in early 2000., She also volunteered at Elections, the Mission Store, and the Boone County Fair. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and canning, as well as doing some traveling with Earvin. She was a member of a bowling team from 1986-1997 on the Queen Pins League. Shirley loved to be involved with her grandchildren and attended all their events. She would never turn down an opportunity to watch them, and she made them all scrapbooks.
Shirley is survived by three sons: Larry (Noel) of Akron, NE; Steve (Nancy) of Wauneta, NE; David (Lori) of Akron, NE; five grandsons: Dustin Noble (friend Jenny Payne) of North Platte, NE; Cody (Kari) Noble of Lincoln, NE; Clark (Mikayla) Noble of Seward, NE; Spencer Noble (fiancé Emily Spieker) of Kearney, NE; Kade Noble (friend Destiny Umbarger) of Akron; NE; two great-grandchildren Morgan and Boston of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Gladys Diessner of Albion, NE; along with nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earvin; brother Edwin "Jack" Williams; brothers-in-law: Merlin (Myrna) Noble and Edward Diessner.
