Sheila J. Cahill, 65, of Milford, NE formerly of St. Edward, NE passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Sunrise Country Manor in Milford, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Matt Gutowski officiating. Inurnment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
Sheila J. Cahill, daughter of Leo James and Jeanne L. (McLees) Cahill was born on September 24, 1959, at Genoa, NE. She was received the sacrament of baptism at St. Edward Catholic Church and later confirmed there. Sheila attended grade school through the 4th grade at District 47 in Nance County. She then went to St. Edward High school where she graduated in 1977. Following high school, Sheila attended Lincoln School of Commerce to be a legal secretary followed by UNL Law School.
Sheila worked as a legal secretary and later after becoming a lawyer in the banking department for the State of Nebraska. She was a previous member of St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE. During her life, Sheila especially enjoyed caring for and hosting her family.
Sheila is survived by one brother: Tim Cahill of St. Edward, NE; sister: Mary Jeanne Cahill of Long Beach, CA; sister-in-law: Becky Cahill of Deshler, NE; nephews and nieces: Cody Cahill of Deshler, NE; Cammie (Travis) Freitag of Carleton, NE; Jesse Dill of Lincoln, NE; Michelle (Taylor) May of Imperial, NE; Molly Cahill of Long Beach, CA; Alycia Carlston of Lincoln, NE; Amanda (Alf) Nathan of Caernafon, Wales; adopted niece: Andrea Loud Hawk of Lincoln, NE; 14 great-nephews and great-nieces; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Kent and Mike Cahill; and sisters: Terri Carlston and Margaret (Tom) Dill.
