Shannon L. Temme, 33 of Kearney, NE, joined her daughter Olivia Grace in her heavenly home on Saturday, February 1, 2020. She passed away peacefully at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, surrounded by family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE, with Rev. Robert Barnhill and Rev. Kevin Vogel concelebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to establish an education fund for Shannon and Matt's children Eliana and Creighton.
Shannon Leigh Temme, daughter of Tim and Lori (Noren) Macke was born September 20, 1986 in Alma, NE. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended school through the 2 nd grade at Alma, NE. She moved with her family to Cambridge, NE where she was confirmed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and graduated from Cambridge High School in 2005. She attended college at Central Community College in Hastings, NE from 2005-2008, earning a degree in Dental Hygiene. She moved to Omaha where she began her career as a Licensed Dental Hygienist with Apple Family Dental Care.
On October 20, 2012, Shannon married Matthew Temme at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge, NE. They continued living in the Omaha area where they were members of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE. They were blessed with three children: Olivia Grace, Eliana Rose and Creighton James. In the fall of 2019, Shannon and Matt moved to Kearney, NE and joined St. James Catholic Church. She worked as a substitute hygienist in Lexington and Kearney.
Shannon developed an auto-immune disorder which resulted in the need for a liver transplant, spleen removal, periodic flare ups, and regular discomfort. Being the fighter that she was, she lived life to the fullest, loving her family and caring for them selflessly, never complaining about her own challenges. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching Notre Dame Football and going golfing.
Shannon leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Matthew and children Eliana and Creighton Temme of Kearney, NE; parents: Tim and Lori Macke of Cambridge, NE; brothers: Phil (Liz) Macke and Leo and Sloan of Armada, MI; Cletus Macke of Cambridge, NE; sister: Liz (Austin) Reisig and Markell, Kaylynn and Miles of Cambridge, NE; parents-in-law: Alan and Jeanne Temme of Petersburg, NE; sister-in-law: Lindsay Temme of Omaha; brother-in-law: Jordan (Samantha) Temme and Kanon of Petersburg, NE; grandparents: Norman and Darlene Noren of Alma, NE; Frances Macke of Lincoln, NE; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Olivia Grace Temme in 2014; grandfather: Doug Macke.
