Ron Pfeifer, 77, of Lindsay, NE passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his residence in Lindsay, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at Holy Family Church in Lindsay, NE. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Lindsay, NE. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service.

Ronald Richard Pfeifer, son of Benedict Thomas and Irene Agnes (Parks) Pfeifer, was born on October 27, 1948, in Humphrey, Nebraska. He received the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation at Lindsay Holy Family Church in Lindsay, Nebraska, and attended Lindsay Holy Family High School, graduating with the Class of 1967.
Ron married Kak Kapels in 1967, and the couple was blessed with three children: Lance, Lesli and Heidi. They made their home in Fremont, where Ron worked for the gas company, before later moving to Columbus. There, he was employed at the Schuyler Pack for seven years and served on a committee that guided the construction of St. Isidore's Church. Following their divorce, Ron returned to the Lindsay area in 1974 to begin farming—a livelihood he embraced wholeheartedly.
On June 13, 1978, Ron was united in marriage to Peggy Knipstein in Albion, Nebraska. They made their home in Lindsay, where Ron continued to farm, and together they welcomed one son, Wade.
Community was central to Ron's life and character. He served as a Platte County Supervisor for 28 years, including one term as Chairman. A devoted member of Holy Family Church, Ron contributed to many parish and community organizations, including the Holy Family Athletics Board, Christians Encounter Christ, and the Albion Country Club. He generously shared his time coaching numerous youth athletic teams across various sports.
For 30 years, Ron kept the clock at football games and during that time inherited the duty of announcer, becoming the "Voice of the Bulldogs". He also drove school bus for many years.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years: Peggy Pfeifer of Lindsay, NE; three children: Lesli (Darin) Mickey of Stromsburg, NE; Heidi (Bryan) Corwin of Omaha, NE; Wade (Kayla) Pfeifer of Lindsay, NE; step-daughter Amie Pfeifer of San Fransico, CA; ten grandchildren: Morgan Mickey of Kansas City, MO; Brooklyn (Aaron) Giannou of Stromsburg, NE; Damon Mickey of Stromsburg, NE; Tysen Corwin and Shea Corwin of Omaha, NE; Emma Pfeifer and Evan Pfeifer of Lindsay, NE; Andrew (Lydia) Pfeifer of Denver, CO; Bryant (Kim) Pfeifer of Denver, CO; Derek Pfeifer of Kansas City, MO; great-grandson: Kayde Pfeifer of Denver, CO; step-great grandchildren: Anthony and Abby Wilson of Denver, CO; siblings: Pete (Carol) Pfeifer; Marcie Christiensen; Jeanne (Leon) Weiland; John (Lois) Pfeifer; Cindi (Steve) Backes; Ben (Donna) Pfeifer; Dean (Barbie) Pfeifer; brothers-in-law: Al Brandl; Ted (Katie) Starostka; Wally (Lyn) Starostka; Tim (Ardith) Starostka; sisters-in-law: Dee Pfeifer and Donna Wilch; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Lance Pfeifer; brother: Bob Pfeifer; sisters: Darlene Haschke; Debi Brandl; parents-in-law: Walt and Esther Starostka; sister-in-law and brother -in-law: Carol (Wayne) Seim.
