Robert E. Young

Robert E. "Bob" Young, 78, of Albion, NE, died on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Boone County Health Center, Albion, NE.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, Albion, NE with Rev. Keith Brich officiating. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Eugene Young, son of Morris Allen and Wilma Opal (Cox) Young was born on November 7, 1944 at St. Edward, NE.  He attended school at Boone County School District 7 and Albion High School.

On August 3, 1974 Bob married Julie Schafer. To this union two sons were born: Fred and James.  The couple later divorced.

Bob lived in the Albion area where he worked several different job including Boone County Road Dept., Michael's Feed Lot, garbage pick up for Don Rutten, Niewohner's Feed Lot, and Helena. He was a member of the Jaycee's and the Albion Men's Club.  He enjoyed helping with the Boone County Fair and also worked at the Nebraska State Fair. In 2006 Bob moved to Raeville with his life partner Audrey Fangman until she passed away in March of 2022.

Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albion. He enjoyed raising and breaking horses, woodworking, working on old tractors, and participating in the Rae Valley Heritage Days.

Bob is survived by his sons Fred Allen Young and James Robert (Sara) Young; grandchildren Emma, Hunter, and Raymond Young all of Omaha, NE; niece and nephews: Marge, Mark, and Mike; great niece and nephew Jordan and Brooke; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Marvin and Daniel Young, and special friend Audrey Fangman.
