Robert "Bob" H. Hadan, 90, of Pharr, TX, passed away on November 27, 2023 at his residence.
A memorial service for Bob and his daughter Polly who passed away on March 24, 2023, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial will be established at that time.

Robert Henry Hadan was born February 19, 1933, to Henry and Amelia (Rieck) Hadan on a farm in the "Sleepy Hallow" community in Greeley County, NE. The family moved to Boone County, NE and lived on various farms mostly in the Primrose community, on the "Pilot Knob" place south of town, and Dublin community north of Primrose.
Bob was baptized into the Lutheran faith on March 26, 1933, and confirmed on Oct 5, 1947, at St John's Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, NE where he continued to be a member until joining Zion Lutheran Church at Albion, NE. Bob attended 12 years of school at District 41 Primrose, NE and graduated in 1950. Bob farmed with his parents and was employed at Swift & Co of Omaha, NE until entering the Army in February of 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956.
Bob was united into marriage to Mary Ann Brandt on July 21, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion NE and raised two children: Robbie and Polly. They farmed for 13 years west of Albion and in the Primrose community. They then moved to Columbus, NE in 1969 and worked for Becton-Dickinson until retiring in 1993. They traveled the United States in their 5th Wheel Camper until settling in the Rio Grande River Valley in Pharr, TX.
Bob enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and gardening. In his retirement years at Paradise Resort Estates in Pharr, TX he enjoyed playing cards, bingo, raising flowers, and the company of his cats. His love of gardening was exemplified in his retirement years while living in south Texas as he was known as the "Plant Whisperer" in his retirement community.
Bob is survived by his son Rob Hadan and friend Maureen Popple of Hot Springs, SD; three granddaughters: Kari (Mark) Murray of Holdrege, NE; Shelby (Tim) Christensen of Holdrege, NE; Gina (Pete) Ottem of Douglas, WY; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Mary Ann in 2009; daughter: Polly Hadan in 2023; daughter in-law: Susan Hadan in 2018; and sisters: Mildred and Marjoury.
