Richard Alan Nauenburg, the son of Otto Frank and Ruth Frances (Nicklasson) Nauenburg was born on January 4, 1952 at St. Edward, NE. He attended elementary school at Woodville District 59 and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1970. Following school Richard continued his life as a farmer. He enjoyed feeding livestock and raising crops.
On June 28, 1980 Richard married Tami Niemann. To this union Derek was born. They lived and farmed near St. Edward.
Richard was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, and the St. Edward Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, 18 of which he served as an EMT. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson trike. Richard was particular about checking the irrigation wells. He was known for making his crop rows straight, before auto-steer was ever invented. Checking cows in their pastures was one of his favorite pastimes, always carrying a fence-checker in the door of the pickup. He always carried a stash of KitKats in the center console of his pickup for Kelby. He was proud of his "herd" of cats, making sure they were always on full feed.
Richard is survived by his son Derek and wife Jennifer; grandson Kelby Nauenburg all of St. Edward, NE; sister Patricia Baker of Rochester, NY; three brothers: Wesley (Kathy) Lyons of Omaha, NE; Dale (Val) Nauenburg of O'Neill, NE; Jerry Nauenburg of Seward, NE; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and MANY, MANY friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jim Baker, and nephew Kurt Lyons.
