Ramona Darlene Spiegel

Ramona D. Spiegel, 90 of Albion, NE passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be held 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ramona Darlene Spiegel, the daughter of Leo and Ardythe (Schulz) Moore, was born on April 28, 1931 at her grandparents' home at North Star, NE which was near Fullerton, NE. They made their home with her grandparents until at a very young age, they moved to Chapman, NE. Ramona attended school in Chapman from kindergarten through the 6 ^th grade. After her mother remarried to Cecil Haugh, the family moved to Central City, NE where she went to 7 ^th and 8 ^th grade. When WWII ended in 1945, the family moved to Albion where her mother and stepfather purchased an appliance store. Ramona then graduated from Albion High School in 1949. Immediately following her graduation, she went to work at the telephone office in Albion as an operator for six years.

On August 2, 1953, Ramona was united in marriage to Robert F. Spiegel at the United Methodist Church in Albion. In 1955 Ramona was both baptized and confirmed as a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. Ramona worked to help take care of the family home and raise her family. In addition to this she assisted Robert on ambulance calls in the early years of the Boone County Ambulance Service. She also worked part time for her mother in her fabric store, Ardy's Fabric Shop.

Ramona was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, as well as the V.F.W. Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, both in Albion. Although she could be stubborn at times, Ramona loved her family and was especially active with her grandchildren and their various activities as they grew up. Ramona also enjoyed sewing and her wine as is fondly remembered by her family.

Ramona is survived by her daughter: Becky (Jim) Olnes of Albion, NE; daughter-in-law: Linda Spiegel of Albion, NE; five grandchildren and their families: Jason (Amy) Olnes and their children Taylor (fiancé Jessie Sullivan), Avery, and Dalton Olnes; Shawn (Amber) Olnes and their children Blake, Kayden (significant other Araceli Palmer), and Harper Olnes; Michelle (Chris) Tomjack and their children Calli and Breckyn Tomjack; Brandy (Jason) Trummer; Kristy (Erick) McCready and their children HaiLee and Colten McCready; sister-in-law: Kathy Spiegel; and three brothers-in-law: Bill Spiegel, Dick Spiegel, and Kenny Spiegel; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob in 1990; son: Dave Spiegel; special cousin: Richard Wood; special friend: Ted Schlange; brother: Charles Moore; sisters-in-law: Lois Spiegel; Candy Spiegel; Gloria Spiegel; Leoda Spiegel; Pat Spiegel; and brothers-in-law: Jack (Marilyn) Spiegel; Jim (Shirley) Spiegel; and Ronnie Spiegel.
