Patrick James Sullivan was born on July 5, 1946, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to James and Esther (O’Neill) Sullivan. He grew up in the Spalding area and graduated from Spalding Academy in 1964 before continuing his education at Creighton University, where he completed his undergraduate studies and pharmacy degree in 1969. He worked in Omaha before entering the Public Health Service in 1971. He was stationed in Pawnee City, OK and served until 1973 when he moved back to Spalding, NE. He raised cattle and in 1976 began working at Wells Drug in Albion, NE and was continuing to do both until the time of his death.

On August 21, 1987, Pat was united in marriage to Joey (Flanagan) Kennedy at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion. The couple made their home in Albion, where Patrick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Patrick dedicated his career to serving others as a pharmacist. His work reflected his commitment to helping others and improving the well-being of his community. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion and held his faith close throughout his life.

Pat was known for his easygoing nature and was a pleasure to be around, paired with a strong work ethic that carried through both his work at the pharmacy and his time in the pasture. He took great pride in his cattle, was a loyal follower of Creighton athletics, and was well known for his dry, understated sense of humor. Grounded in a deep and abiding faith, he lived his life with quiet strength, steady conviction, and just enough wit to keep those around him on their toes.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children: Erin (Alex) Reinhart of Elkhorn, NE; John (Lou) Kennedy of Primrose, NE; Shelly (Bob) Furley of Elkhorn, NE; and Amy (Todd) Snover of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Jay Kennedy of Albion, NE; Blaine Kennedy of Johnson Lake, NE; Bryce Kennedy of Primrose, NE; Thomas Blair of Arvada, CO; Elaina Spinola, Julia Blair, Matthew Blair, and Cooper Snover, all of Omaha, NE; Mason Snover of Chicago, IL; Jonathan Snover of Des Moines, IA; and Lakyn, Dax, and Pierce Reinhart, all of Elkhorn, NE; great-grandchildren; one brother Mike (Debbie) Sullivan of Omaha, NE; one sister Kathleen (Don) French of Boise, ID; sister-in-law Mary Sullivan of Omaha, NE; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joey Sullivan; his brother, Denny Sullivan; his father, James Sullivan; and his mother, Esther Sullivan.
