Myrna Noble, 98 of Albion, NE passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE.

In consideration of the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, there will be a private family service held with burial at Bonanza Cemetery, Akron, NE.

Myrna, the daughter of Guy and Cora (Kruse) Townsend was born October 6, 1921 at Loretto. She attended a rural school and graduated from Albion High School in 1938. Following graduation, she taught country school. On March 20, 1942 she was united in marriage to Merlin Noble. They had two children, Mary Jean and Roger. They lived and farmed in the Akron area except for the time Merlin served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

In 1984 they moved to their retirement home in Loretto. Merlin died February 18, 2009 and Myrna moved to Albion. They enjoyed traveling on bus tours and visiting family and Army friends.

Myrna, a long-time member of the Akron Presbyterian Church, served as an Elder and a Sunday school teacher. She helped organize the Bonanza 4-H Club and served as the leader for more than twenty-five years. As a member of VFW Auxiliary, she was elected treasurer for several terms and was honored in 2008 as the Mini-Park Flag recipient. Recognized for her quilting talents with purple ribbons at the county fair, she provided quilts for her family and for the community.  After moving to Loretto, she actively supported UMW by donating her baby quilts and lap quilts. Myrna Noble, a dedicated member of her community, always addressed the task at hand.

She is survived by her children: Mary and husband Francis Osentowski, Roger and wife Jennifer.  Five grandchildren:  Tagni (Richard) McRae, John (Stacey) Noble, Mike (Amy) Noble, Rob (Tina) Noble and Chris (Tam) Osentowski, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, three sisters-in-law and 8 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Merle Furr and brother Harvey Townsend.
