Michael "Mike" Joseph Mullin

Michael "Mike" Joseph Mullin, 89, died Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln, NE.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Albion with Fr. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Albion, NE.

Mike was born in 1931 in Spalding, Nebraska to Norman and Helen Mullin. He attended Albion High School and Creighton University. He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1952 and was stationed in Japan.

He married Kathleen (Kay) Helen Stillinger in Albion, NE in October 1959. During their 61 years together they lived in Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Maine, and New Hampshire.

Mike was a real estate appraiser and earned his MAI from the Appraisal Institute. Mike especially appreciated the travel across the state and country that this work allowed him.

He enjoyed visits to the Sandhills, road trips, and family reunions. Both he and Kay enhanced the properties on which they lived through gardening. He particularly enjoyed selecting, planting and nurturing a variety of trees.

He is survived by his wife Kay of Lincoln, Nebraska, and his children Monica (Doug) Holland, Melinda Mullin, Daniel (Linda) Mullin, Timothy (Cherie) Mullin, Celia (Jon) Schatzky, and Matthew Mullin; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and by his siblings Dave, Kay Mikwold, Hank, Bob, Sally Gallagher, Francie, Debbie Sullivan, Dennis, Norma Kirkland, Hilary Christo and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Helen Mullin, and his sister Marge Saarem.
