Maxine Walrath

Maxine L.Walrath, 89, of Davey, formerly of Primrose, NE, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at the home of her daughter, Diane, in Davey, NE.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Maxine was born at home in Boone County, NE, June 28, 1930 to Grover and Eila (Eschliman) Hinkle. She graduated from Albion High School in 1947 then worked at Consumer Public Power District for a short time following high school. She was married to the love of her life, Gerald O. Walrath, on July 22, 1951, in Albion, NE. They farmed in the Akron community where they had 5 children. She always enjoyed her community, singing, dancing, dinner club, working at the NE State Fair, and traveling in their motor home. She worked hard in her gardens and at preserving its harvest.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, her parents, brothers and sisters, and an infant son, David.

She will always be very fondly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Son-Dan (Patsy) Walrath, of Middleton, Idaho, and family: Jennifer Walrath of Middleton, ID, Ryan (Nicole) Walrath of Star, Idaho, John (Martha) Walrath and their children David and Jacqueline of Green River, WY. Daughter-Diane Ahlstrand of Davey, NE and family: Greg (Emily) Ahlstrand of Pleasant Dale, NE and their children Gavin, Patti, and Colton. Son-Perry Walrath of Roswell, NM. Daughter-Pamela (George) Stapp of Cooper, TX and family: Andrea Stapp of Roswell, NM and Garret Stapp of Dallas, TX. We will miss your sweet smile, kind heart, and joyful spirit!
