Maxine M. Voichoski, 92 of Albion, NE passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society, Albion, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, NE, with Fr. Mark Tomasiewicz and Deacon Paul Weeder officiating. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Spalding, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Levander Funeral Home, 1555 S. 6th Street, Albion, NE with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Altar Society in Albion, NE.
Maxine Marie Voichoski, daughter of Perry and Edna (Leader) Chana was born on November 9, 1931, in Petersburg, NE. She received the sacrament of baptism and confirmation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE. Maxine went to District #18 through the 8th grade and later attended St. John's High School and graduated with the class of 1949.
On April 10, 1951, Maxine married Theodore Peter Voichoski at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE. The couple made their home on a farm in the Akron, NE area, west of Loretto, NE for 40 years. There they raised their eight children: David, Mark, Kathleen, Janice, Roger, Yvonne, Gladys, and Gary. The couple later moved to Albion in 1990.
Maxine was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, NE. Previously she was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding, NE and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE. Maxine was a part of the St. Michael's Altar Society in Albion, Korner Quilters, and Akron Jolly Neighbor Club. She loved bowling, reading, baking, playing cards – especially a card game called Golf, and polka dancing with Ted. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and making memories to last a lifetime.
Maxine is survived by her seven children: Mark (Diane) Voichoski of Lincoln, NE; Kathleen Hahn of North Platte, NE; Janice (J.J.) Carraher of Spalding, NE; Roger (Datrece) Voichoski of Albion, NE; Yvonne (Gene) Frank of Grand Island, NE; Gladys (Gerald) Asche of Spalding, NE; Gary (Jennifer) Voichoski of Riverdale, NE; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren plus one more due in July; five siblings: Jeanine Kennedy of Cedar Rapids, NE; Donald Chana of St. Edward, NE; Vivian Carnahan of Fremont, NE; Charlotte (Larry) Courtright of Santa Clarita, CA; Merlin Chana of St. Edward, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Ted in 2013; son: David Voichoski; and son-in-law: John Hahn.
