Matt Tannehill

James "Matt" M. Tannehill, 44, of Albion, NE, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 16, 2023 near Belgrade, NE.

A public visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE. Following the visitation there will be a gathering held at his home near Albion, NE.

James "Matt" Matthew Tannehill, son of James Edward and Judith Annette Rose (Swiler) Tannehill, was born on March 25, 1979 at Denver, CO. He attended Crete High School in Nebraska.

Matt was a jack of all trades. He was a kung fu artist, certified welder and held a cdl license. Since December of 2022 Matt has been working for Valasek farms.

Matt loved to hunt during bow and rifle season. He shared that love with his children. They all spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed the thrill of going fast. He had a strong love for God and his country. Above all else, Matt loved his family and was always making us laugh. His children were his greatest pride and joy. He had a one-of-a-kind eccentric, opiniated, and very caring personality. He was one to help anyone in need. He was a die-hard Broncos fan and loved all the treasures in his trophy case. He is now at peace with his mom. And in his words – Bazinga! Go Broncos!

Matt is survived by his three children: Wesley Tannehill of Lincoln, NE; Timothy Tannehill and Emilee Tannehill both of Columbus, NE; mother of his children: Heather Jakub of Columbus, NE; father: Jim Tannehill of Newman Grove, NE; two sisters: Jessica (Frankie) Mossa of Omaha, NE; Sarah Lu (Mark Fay) of  Centennial, CO; brother: Joey (or "Jory" to Matt) Tannehill of Battle Creek, NE; five nephews and one niece; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom: Judy Tannehill; brother from another mother: Timothy McArthur.
