Mary Elizabeth Covington, 27, of Albion, NE, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at her home in Albion, NE.

A visitation celebrating Mary's life will be 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE. Following the visitation, a gathering and meal will be held at her sister Misty's house, located at 836 S. 5th Street, Albion, NE.

Mary Elizabeth Covington, was born on September 30, 1997 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE to John Edward and Rose Marie (Ivey) Covington. She was baptized and confirmed at Malmo Lutheran Church in Malmo, NE.

Mary attended elementary school at Wahoo Public in Wahoo, NE, Mockingbird Elementary in Omaha, NE and Anderson Middle School also in Omaha. She then attended Fremont High School. Following high school, Mary worked at Walmart in Omaha and had worked most recently at Casey's in Albion, NE.

On February 11, 2019, Mary received a kidney transplant, naming her new-to-her kidney "Stevie". This was one of so many things in her life that made Mary unique. Known to many as "Little Mary", she had a huge love for family and friends and their kids. Throughout her life, Mary loved horror movies, dirt track racing, listening to Eminem and other music artists, taking selfies, and her cat Luci. From getting into trouble at a young age for throwing rocks at cars to her many tattoos, she lived life on her terms.

Mary is survived by her mother: Rose (Don Aken Jr.) Covington of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Misty (Travis Kumpf) Newton of Albion, NE; Mika Covington of Iowa City, IA; brother Justin (Heather) Covington of Omaha, NE; niece and nephews: Railey, James, Eli, and Luke Covington of Omaha, NE; best friend: Kelsey (Tony Gragert) Schumacher and children Eli and Harlow of Albion, NE; special friend: Dylan Gilbert of Albion, NE; grandmother: Betty Barry of Fremont, NE; and her beloved cat: Luci.

She was preceded in death by her father and Grandpa and Grandma Ivey.
