Marvin E. Wilson, 79, of Albion, NE, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Janet Burgel officiating. Interment follow at Bonanza Cemetery, Akron, NE. Visitation, with no family present, will be 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE. Social distancing and current Covid-19 DHM's will be followed at both the visitation and funeral.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin Earl Wilson, son of Willis I. and Frances "Ethel" Wilson, was born November 28, 1941 on the family farm west of Loretto NE. He attended rural Boone County Schools and Albion High School, graduating in 1960. During high school, he excelled in track and basketball. He worked for a grocery store and farmed, along with other jobs before going to work for Boone County in 1976.
On April 13, 1985, Marvin married Cathy Sauser at the United Methodist Church in Albion, NE. He continued working for Boone County, cleaning seed for farmers, along with accepting the position of Weed Superintendent in 1986. He continued until retiring in December 2007.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, playing cards and pool, and especially being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Cathy of Albion, NE; five children: Annette (Jim) Horan of Sioux City, IA; Lorrie (Dave) VanRoekel of Omaha, NE; Audrey (Celestino) Perez of Grand Island, NE; Frances (Joe) Nitzel of St. Edward, NE; Alan Wilson of Albion, NE; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother Bernard (Peg) Wilson of Norfolk, NE; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Jeannette.
