Marthaann "Marty" Anderson

MarthaAnn "Marty" Anderson, 81, of Newman Grove, NE, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Brighton Gardens, Omaha, Nebraska

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Shell Creek Lutheran Church in Newman Grove, NE, with Pastor Becky Beckmann officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Shell Creek Cemetery, rural Newman Grove, NE. Current Covid-19 DHM's in effect, and masks will be required at the visitation and funeral service.

Levander Funeral Home of Newman Grove is in charge of the arrangements.

MarthaAnn Anderson, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin and Lucille Mildred (Texley) Tisthammer was born on April 26, 1939 at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE.  She graduated from Newman Grove High School, then attended Wayne State College, and the University of Northern Colorado.

On September 25, 1959 Marty was united in marriage to Gale LeRoy Anderson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Newman Grove, NE.  The couple lived in Newman Grove where Marty was a teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Marty was a member of Shell Creek Lutheran Church, and the choir there. She enjoyed playing board games, reading, doing crossword puzzles (in pen…not pencil), and her Bible Study group.

Marty is survived by her son Kevin (Kim) Anderson of Omaha, NE; two daughters: Anita (Mark) Muller of Allen, NE; Karla Dohmen of Omaha, NE: eight grandchildren: Mitchell (Laura) Anderson of Omaha, NE; Emma (Stefan) Hald of Omaha, NE; Alex Anderson of Kearney, NE; Barbra and Heather Dohmen of Omaha, NE; Daniel, Kristyna, and Megan Muller of Allen, NE; seven great-grandchildren: Isabelle Shields, Videl and Nolan Wheatly, Oliver and Charles Anderson, Luella and Thea Hald; one brother Greg (Deborah) Cederlind of Washington; three sisters: Gwen (Curt) Condit; Joni (Dan) Letlow; Donna (J. Greg) Hunter all of California; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gale; son Jeremy; stepfather Milton; and sister Juli e.
