Mark Carey, 51, of Albion, NE, died unexpectedly, due to complications of a stroke suffered last year, Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Albion, NE.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday February 26, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Keith Brich officiating. Interment will follow at the Tilden City Cemetery in Tilden, NE. Visitation will be 5–7 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.
Mark A.L. Carey, the son of Merlyn and Sandy (Ruegger) Carey, was born on June 4, 1968 at Geneva, NE. Mark attended school in Fullerton and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1986.
While attending a high school volleyball game in 1986, Mark met Debra Staub. On June 28, 1991, the couple were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Albion, NE. Throughout his life, Mark worked at Napa Auto Parts in Albion, the parts department at Sullivan Motors in Albion, as a butcher at Len and Joe's Grocery in Fullerton, and most recently as a cowboy/mechanic/jack of all trades at Niewohner Farms near Albion.
Mark was a naturally gifted man and was very talented in the work that he did. He loved his family dearly, from his wife Debbie, to all his nieces and nephews. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting his various guns, reloading ammunition, riding his motorcycle, and was especially close with his dogs throughout the years.
Those left to cherish Mark's memory include his wife: Debra Carey of Albion, NE; parents: Merlyn and Sandy Carey of Fullerton, NE; mother-in-law: Joanne Staub of Albion, NE; brother: Mike (Andrea) Carey and children of Fullerton, NE; his aunts Bonnie and Sherry; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; two uncles; and father-in-law: Bud Staub.
