Marjorie I. Briese, 92 of Albion, NE passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Boone County Health Center.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.
Marjorie Irene (Molt) Briese was born on June 24th, 1930 at the farm of Glen and Christena (Hemmingsen) Molt, west of Primrose by the Greeley County line. She attended grade school at Greeley District #4 and Primrose High School through her Junior year. In her Senior year, the family moved to the farm west of Boone and Marjorie graduated from Albion High School class of 1948.
Marjorie married Delaine Jerold Briese on April 22nd, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. Delaine was drafted into the U.S. Army on January 5th, 1953 and they lived in Fort Chafee Arkansas for his basic training and then they were transferred to Anchorage Alaska where Marjorie worked in the office pool. She would tell about how fun it was to try and type on a portable typewriter stand on wheels during an earthquake. Delaine was discharged from the Army on October 4 th , 1954 and they returned to Albion, living in town for a short period of time before moving to the farm northwest of Albion.
Marjorie worked a variety of jobs including teacher's aide at Beaver Valley District #13, teacher's aide at Albion High School, part time help at the Boone County Extension office and most recently she enjoyed working at Pat's Fashion Boutique. Marge made life-long friends with all the other individuals at the Albion Senior Center. Marjorie enjoyed Beaver Valley Club, Extension Club, China Painting Club, History and Arts, and the Red Hat Society.
Marjorie was a very good cook, baker and canner. She was also an amazing artist and enjoyed ceramics, china painting and most recently coloring. She loved to share her artwork with many people. Recently, one thing she really enjoyed was watching the sunrise every morning with Twila. Being such a talented artist, she was amazed at the beauty that each day brought.
Marjorie is survived by her three children: Todd (Shelia) Briese of Nebraska City; Tami (Neal) Bracht of West Point; and Twila (Greg) Koetter of Albion; grandchildren: Shandi (Dan) Nolte, Derek (Stephanie) Bracht, Karlie Bracht, Leah Bracht, Aisha Koetter, Tayla (Shawn) Rasmussen, Trevor (Katelyn) Koetter, and Mason Koetter; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Easton, Bentley and Emry Nolte; Corbin, Ember and Gregory Rasmussen; and Daisy Koetter; Sister-in-law Kathryn Sojka and brother-in-law Virgil Schuster.
Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents Glen and Christena Molt; her husband, Delaine on July 10 th 2004; her parents-in-law Emil and Martha Briese; her brothers Marvin and Howard Molt; her sister Eileen Bittner; her sisters-in-law Lynette Molt and Marlene Schuster; and her brother-in-law Robert Bittner.
