Marilyn R. Fox, 89 of Albion, NE passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Cloverlodge Care Center, St. Edward, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Albion, NE with Rev. Kenton Birtell officiating.  Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be 5:30-7:00p.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion. Social distancing and current Covid-19 DHM's will be followed at both the visitation and funeral and masks are recommended to be worn. Marilyn Ruth Fox, daughter of Victor and Ruth (Christner) Schwenk was born July 8, 1931 in Hamlet, NE. She was the oldest of five children. Her father was a farmer in Hitchcock County for many years until the drought took the family farm. When Marilyn was 8 yrs. old, her family moved to Hastings where her father took a job at the Navy Depot. Marilyn attended and graduated from Hastings High School in 1950. After high school she attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK and then returned home to Hastings and began working in the surgery department of Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Marilyn met Don Fox at a revival meeting at her church and on August 7, 1955, they were united in marriage at the Church of the Nazarene in Hastings, NE. In 1956, they moved to Holdrege, NE where Don worked as a State Scale Officer for one year before they returned to the family farm where they raised their family. In 1989, they retired from farming and moved into Albion. Marilyn delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered at the Good Samaritan Home and worked as a custodian at the First Baptist Church in Albion where she was a member for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother Don and wife Carolyn Schwenk from Olathe, KS; sister Karen and husband Floyd Fisher from Carlsbad,  NM; her son Dennis and wife Janiece of Albion, NE; 3 daughters, Donita Matchett and Ben of O'Neill, NE; Linda Birtell and Kenton of Holdrege, NE; Sandra Morris and Mike of Silver Creek, NE; five grandchildren: Crissy (Jeff) Winings, Hannah Birtell (fiancé Tyler McLaughlin) and Nathan Birtell, Micheala and Marissa Morris; and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Fox, an infant son Carl Dean, brothers, Delbert and Darrel Schwenk.
