Lisa Jayne Swerczek

Lisa J. Swerczek, 60, of Albion, NE, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020, at her home in Albion, NE.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE with Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at church. Social distancing, and current Covid-19 DHM's effective will be followed at the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.

Lisa Jayne Swerczek, daughter of Marlyn and Mariel (Witt) Karabel, was born August 3, 1960 in Hastings, Nebraska. She attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from Hastings High School in 1978. She then attended the nursing program at Central Community College and received her LPN.

In 1984, Lisa was united in marriage to Gary Swanson in Hastings. The couple made their home in Hastings, Grand Island, and Polk, NE. On June 5, 2009, Lisa married Vic Swerczek. They made their home in Belgrade, Cedar Rapids, and Albion, NE. Lisa worked as a nurse for over 30 years. In addition to nursing, she also ran a feed truck, worked at ADM, Pappy's Place, and worked for Lone Tree Medical Clinic.

Lisa loved fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. Together, with Vic she loved spending time traveling, sightseeing, camping, and going to casinos. She especially loved spending time with her four children and nine grandchildren. Lisa enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and collected Santa's and other Christmas décor.

On Saturday, September 5, 2020, Lisa walked into heaven alongside her mother Mariel.

Lisa is survived by her husband Vic of Albion, NE; four children: Jennifer Parker of Lincoln, NE; Tiffany (Jeremy) MacDonald of Fullerton, NE; Garrison (Raydee) Swanson of Polk, NE; Brittany (Cory) MacDonald of Grand Island, NE; nine grandchildren: Eli Parker; Jude, Zoey, and Jaxxyn MacDonald; Lily, Jonah, and Forrest Swanson; Alan and Dante MacDonald; three brothers: Steve (Cinda) Karabel of Lincoln, NE; Gary (Patty) Karabel of Wichita Falls, TX; Larry (Mary Ann) Karabel of York, NE; along many extended family members of the Swerczek family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marlyn Karabel.
