Lisa Jo Groth

Lisa Jo Groth, 43, of Monroe, NE, together with her daughter Brooke Groth, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 near Monroe as the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Boone County Event Center in Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Frohs officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery, Oakland, NE at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Lisa Jo Groth, daughter of Gerald and Cheryl (Reimers) Gustafson was born on November 4, 1975 in Fremont, NE. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Lisa attended West Point Elementary and graduated from West Point High School in 1994. She then attended Wayne State College and graduated with her Family and Consumer Science degree in December of 1997. Lisa later received her master's degree in 2005.

On May 30, 1998 Lisa was united in marriage to Steven J. Groth at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Four children were born to this union. Lisa taught at Wilson and Benson Public Schools in Omaha, NE; Leigh Community Schools, and was currently working at Boone Central High School.

Lisa was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. She served on various committees in her professional groups. She was currently serving Nebraska FCCLA as Board of Directors Chair and a co-advisor to the FCCLA Financial Fitness Team. Lisa was named Teacher of the Year for the Family Consumer Science Teachers. Lisa was an amazing teacher and opened her heart for all students and welcomed all to visit with her. Lisa was a busy professional and mom, but most enjoyed being home with her husband and children. She also enjoyed watching her children show livestock and watching their sporting events.

Lisa is survived by her husband Steve and three children: Ty, Hannah, and Audra Groth of Monroe, NE; mother Cheryl Gustafson of West Point, NE; brother David (Melanie) Gustafson and their children Quenton, Camden, Kortlin, and Cullan of Columbus, NE: brothers-in-law John (Julie) Groth and children Nathan, Megan, Rachel, and Katie of Beemer, NE; Mark Groth of West Point, NE; sister-in-law Jane (Tom) Tucker and children Jessie and Cody of Missouri; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Gerald Gustafson, daughter Brooke Groth, sister Lori Gustafson, mother and father-in-law: Edwin and Elinor Groth, and brother-in-law Douglas Groth.
