Lily Joy Johnson, 24, of Albion, NE died on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Nebraska Medicine Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 14, 2022 at UCC-Congregational Church, Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Avidano officiating. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the UCC-Congregational Church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grant Evergreen Cemetery, Talmage, NE.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Lily Joy Johnson, daughter of Jon Jay Johnson and Jean Alison Meyers was born on November 24, 1997, at Jefferson, IA. She was baptized at First Congregational Church in McCook, NE. In 1998 the family moved to Albion, NE where Lily attended school at Boone Central School, graduating with the class of 2016. Lily was a member of and confirmed at the UCC Congregational Church in Albion, NE.
Lily loved being involved in extracurricular activities. She took dance lessons and participated in Missoula Children's Theater for many years. She played soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball through middle school and in high school was involved in chorus, FBLA, One Act, musical, bowling, and golf. She really enjoyed working as a projectionist at the Gateway Theater for 6 years.
After graduating in 2016, Lily moved to Lincoln where she worked at various jobs with children and in food service.
Lily was very involved in 4-H, doing many different projects, but really enjoyed baking. Showing pigs one year was a highlight. She was chosen Boone County 4-H Queen in 2016. Lily was also a Girl Scout and earned the Silver Award.
Traveling, especially to see family, country music, Disney movies, and playing cards and board games were some of her favorite things. Lily especially loved her dog, Leila.
Lily is survived by her parents Jon and Jean of Albion, NE; three brothers: Seth Johnson of Lincoln, NE; Samuel Johnson of Albion, NE; Luke Johnson of Fall City, NE; one sister April Johnson of Lincoln, NE; aunts and uncles: Linda Meyers of Lincoln, NE; Jan (Roy) Petersen of Seattle, WA; Jim (Nova) Meyers of Oberlin, KS; Barb (Pat) Shurtliff of Springfield, NE: many beloved cousins; extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ray and Mardella (Childers) Johnson; Earl and Virginia (Petersen) Meyers; uncles: Alan Johnson, Ray K. Johnson, and aunt Susan Johnson Meade.
