Leone Green, 94 of Albion, NE died Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society-Albion in Albion, NE.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Albion, NE with Pastor Lynde Linde officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements.
V. Leone Green, daughter of Clarence E. and Alpharetta (Brock) Reynoldson, was born November 9, 1927, on the family farm near St. Edward, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at Pinnacle Hill Church, attended Boone County District #9 through the 10 th grade, and graduated from Albion High School in 1945. She went on to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
On March 16, 1947, Leone was united in marriage to Warren Duane "Jun" Green at the Methodist Parsonage in Albion, NE. To this union three sons were born: Norman Duane, Richard Warren and Timothy Clarence. Leone was a homemaker, raising their three sons, along with helping her husband in the Produce and Dairy business. She also worked at the Albion Livestock Market, Albion News and served as secretary of the Albion Chamber of Commerce.
It was in 1947 Leone transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church in Albion and remained a member for the next 70+ years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Albion Senior Center. Over the years, she held most offices in all of the organizations she was a member of, along with teaching Sunday school and serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
Leone is survived by two sons: Richard of Lake Forest, CA; Timothy (Denise) of Omaha, NE; two grandchildren: Eric Green of Omaha, NE and Sarah Green of North Platte, NE; sister Ethel Cook of Maxwell, NE; along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Norman, brother Merle, Lawrence, and Verne.
