Larry A. Braband

Larry A. Braband, 68 of Elgin, NE died Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Arbor Care Center in Neligh, NE.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, NE with Rev. Norlyn Bartens and Rev. Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at West Cedar Valley Cemetery, Elgin, NE.  Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at Levander Funeral Home in Elgin.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Levander Funeral Home of Elgin, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Arthur Braband, son of Arthur F. and June J. (Schmidt) Braband, was born May 22, 1952 at Tilden, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, NE, attended Rural District #106 through the eighth grade and graduated from Elgin High School in 1970.

After high school, Larry continued to live in the Elgin area while taking a job at Ritzcraft in Neligh, manufacturing trailer houses. In March 1980, he began working for Farmer's Cooperative in Elgin and continued through a couple of transitions and retired in 2018 from what is now Central Valley Ag.

Larry was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, a 23 year member of Elgin Volunteer Fire Department, and an avid supporter of Elgin High School Athletics and Husker Football. He was also a member of the "Chain Gang" at Elgin High School home football games for 43 years.

He is survived by his sisters: Sharon (Harold) Klein of Neligh, NE; Linda (Lynn) Varn of Omaha, NE; Kathy (Paul) Fullerton of Albert City, IA; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
