Lanny L. Young

Lanny L. Young, 84, of Albion, NE passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at his home in Albion, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE with Rev. Lynde Linde officiating.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home.  Burial will be at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE.

Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements.

Lanny Lynn Young, son of Kenneth and Bertha (Norskov) Young was born August 16, 1940, in Albion, NE. He first went to country school before attending Albion High School.

On June 23, 1963, Lanny married the love of his life, Jean "Jeanne" Brengelman at the Methodist Church in Albion, NE. The couple continued to make their home in Albion, NE. Lanny worked at Sullivan Motors as a mechanic before going to Wolf Brothers where he retired in 2002.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Lanny loved working with his hands, was an avid car enthusiast, loved racing, tinkering, and mowing his lawn. If you knew Lanny – you knew he was very meticulous and very proud of his yard. Lanny collected many things, enjoyed having coffee at White Star and had his very own seat at the Vet's club. Most importantly Lanny loved dancing with Jeanne and making over 60 years of lifelong memories with her.

Lanny is survived by his wife Jeanne of Albion, NE; two siblings: Eugene (Vivian) Young of Albion, NE; Karen Keeshan of Omaha, NE; two sisters-in-law: Betty (Harold) Staub and Betty Brengelman both of Waterloo, NE; brother-in-law: Richard (Karen) Brengelman of Leewood, KS; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law: Ernest and Bessie Brengelman; two brothers-in-law: Virgil (Doris) Brengelman and Robert Brengelman; four sisters-in-law: Vera (Gerald) Thiem; Donna (George) Malone, Lois (Paul) Bisel; and infant: Anna Marie Brengelman.
