Keith M Stewart

Keith M. Stewart, 87 of Albion, NE, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family. It was Keith's wishes to be cremated and have a private graveside service and inurnment at St. Michael's Cemetery, Albion, NE at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Boone County Health Center.

Keith was born August 18, 1936 to George and Mildred (Kinney) Stewart in Norfolk, NE. He lived in Petersburg, NE until the age of seven when his family moved to Albion, NE. Keith graduated from Albion High School in 1954, participating in band, choir, football, basketball and track. After high school, he enjoyed officiating high school football and basketball. At age 13, he joined his brother George Lee in the photography business and by the time he turned 18 he owned his own business, Stewart Studio, and continued until he sold the studio and retired in 1996. From age 16-60, Keith photographed approximately 400 weddings, and took school photographs for 1000's of students. In 1954, he joined the Army National Guard and served eight years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1962 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In 1959, Keith married Rosamond "Rosie" Mannlein. In 1962, Rosie was diagnosed with MS and died in 1988 of cancer. In 1990, he married Karen (Mills) Breon who died in 2019.

Keith was an active member of the Albion community serving terms on the Albion Country Club Board (past president), Albion City Council, Albion Chamber of Commerce (past secretary) and the Albion High School Alumni Association (past president). In 1963, Keith co-founded the Albion Municipal Airport, begin involved in its construction and serving 15 years as chairman of the Albion Airport Authority.  In 2002, Keith was inducted in the Albion High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his children: Brian Stewart of Genoa, NE; W. Scott Breon of Deadwood, SD; L. Kathleen "Kate" (Breon) Mueller and husband John of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren: Kylee Mueller of Lincoln, NE; Dillon Mueller and wife Madison (Waddell) of Walton, NE; Luke Breon of Lincoln, NE and Nathan Breon of Cozad, NE; along with extended family, in-laws and friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; brother George Lee Stewart; first wife Rosie; second wife Karen; and son Bruce Stewart.
