Julia "Judy" E. Shaw, 91, of Albion, NE, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albion, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Albion, NE with Fr. Matt Gutowski officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Julia "Judy" Elizabeth Shaw, daughter of William and Pansy Irene (Phillips) Martin was born on March 19, 1933, in O'Neill, NE. She received the sacrament of Baptism and later confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, NE. Judy attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated with the class of 1951.
On July 26, 1952, Judy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert K. Shaw at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, NE. From this union Judy was blessed with six children. The family lived in O'Neill before moving to the Albion area in 1963 where they opened up Bob Machine and Supply. Judy became the bookkeeper for the family business as well as managing the home and children.
Judy was a longtime member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a devoted Catholic; her faith was deeply important to her. Judy was a firm believer in praying the rosary and in her words, "I better get my beads a-rollin'." Judy loved tending to her flowers, crocheting, and embroidering. She spent many years raising chickens. She enjoyed canning and making jellies. Judy was a wonderful cook and baker. Her greatest passions were being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her six children: Laurie Coughtry of Columbus, NE; Mary Shaw of Albion, NE; Bob Shaw of Payson, AZ; Ruby (Jim) Prothman of West Point, NE; Helen (John) Majerus of Cedar Rapids, NE; Ed Shaw of Kansas City, MO; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bob in 2009; a granddaughter: Jessica; six siblings and their spouses: Don (Melsina) Martin; Midge (Fritz) Hickey; Mary Helen (Mag) Magdance; Ed (Leona) Martin; Ann (Hank) Day; Kay (Red) Shoemaker; as well as all of Bob's family.
