Juanita J. Harris-Millen, 99, of Albion, NE, died on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society-Albion in Albion, NE.

It was Juanita's wish to be cremated and no local services are planned. Burial of her cremains will be at a later date at Union Star Cemetery in Union Star, MO.

Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of local arrangements.

Juanita Jean Harris-Millen, daughter of Carl B. and Bertha "Lea" Leora (Farrow) Harris, was born on October 27, 1923, at Savannah, MO. Juanita attended elementary school at Andrew County Cherry Grove and high school at Savannah High School where she graduated in 1941. She then attended Platt-Gard Business School in St. Joseph, MO from 1941-1942.

Juanita lived in rural Savannah, MO until 1942 when she moved to Washington DC. She lived there until 1947 when she moved back to Savannah until 1948. Juanita then returned to Washington D.C. and Maryland. On January 16, 1982, Juanita was married to Herrold A. Millen in Washington DC. She then moved to Albion, NE with Herrold and resided in Albion for the remainder of her life. Juanita worked as a secretary and administrative assistant for the United States federal government until her retirement.

She was a member at Petworth Baptist Church in Washington D.C. in 1945. She transferred to the Albion United Methodist Church in 1982. Juanita was an active member of the United Methodist Women and the Eastern Star. Throughout her life she donated countless units of blood through the American Red Cross. Juanita enjoyed horses and horsemanship. She especially loved to drive and travel the country, always keeping a homemade ice cream maker in her car for those special occasions. Juanita was also known to be very supportive of her family's activities and would travel to attend them often.

Juanita is survived by her sister: Winona L. Hatcher of Glendale, AZ; niece: Karmella (Rory) Sellers of Dubuque, IA; nephew: Kent (Deana) Hatcher of Glendale, AZ; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother: Lloyd Harris; nephew: Keith Hatcher; and brother-in-law: Paul "Hatch" Hatcher.
