Joel Edward Langan, the son of David and Connie (Kleffner) Langan was born on February 5, 1966 at Albion, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. Joel attended school in Cedar Rapids and graduated with the Class of 1984. Following high school Joel worked at VanAckron Feedlot. He started driving truck for Werner Trucking in St. Edward, then started his long trucking career with Zentner Transportation in 1989. Joel's last haul ended Monday, June 13, 2022 with his truck "Easy Street" in Austin, TX after around six million miles driven over the road. On August 9, 2005, Joel was united in marriage to Heather Dawn Jacobsen at Deadwood, South Dakota. They lived in Cedar where Joel and Heather spent most of their time working on trucks in their shop and entertaining the revolving door of visitors that stopped by to catch up with Joel and get a dose of his sense of humor and non-stop fun personality. In addition to working and working some more, Joel did find time to ride his Harley, enjoy some NASCAR and Stock car races, and always be giving and nice to others and willing to help anyone who needed it. He loved listening to all kinds of music and loved eating soup. Joel really enjoyed children and had many that look up to him and that will miss his teasing and love. Joel never knew a stranger and had "a million" friends everywhere, and many very close special friends!
Joel will be deeply missed by his wife Heather; his parents Dave and Connie Langan all of Cedar Rapids, NE; siblings Janet (Don) Schumaker of Ord, NE; Dave (Julie) Langan of Albion, NE; Chris (fiancé Butch Klassen) Watts of Cedar Rapids, NE; Tom Langan of Elba, NE: parents-in-law John and Pat Epp of Grand Island, NE: numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many, many friends.
