Joe Frank Weltruski

Joe F. Weltruski, 62, of Brighton, CO, formerly of the Albion, NE area, died Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.

A public visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Colorado.

Joseph "Joe" Frank Weltruski, son of Joseph Louis and Jane Elaine (Schuchhart) Weltruski, was born in Spalding, NE on October 22, 1958. Joe attended grade school in Primrose and later attended Albion High School.

Joe was united in marriage to Brenda Marie Nelson at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. The couple made their home in Albion while working for Ecolab. They then later moved to Westminster, CO. While living in Colorado, Joe started his business, Automated Gate Systems which was a full-service company specializing in the sales and service of security gates.

Joe was full of knowledge and could fix anything. He loved sharing his wide variety of skills with others. He would do anything for anybody, even a complete stranger.

Some of Joe's most enjoyable moments were boating at Lake McConaughy nearly every weekend in his younger years. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and building hotrods. At the time of his passing, Joe had started plans to restore his 1985 El Camino. Most of all though, Joe loved being with all of his family and friends.

Joe is survived by two daughters: Trisha (Edgar) Jaramillo of Platteville, CO; Nicole Ortega of Thornton, CO; five grandchildren: Dominic and Devin Jaramillo; Mercedez, Lyric, and Harmoni Ortega; four siblings: Connie Kleffner; Ronald (Jo) Weltruski; Priscilla Weltruski; Pauline (Jerry) Dunfee; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law: Bob Kleffner and Dave Weverka.
