Jodeen Katherine Kleveland

Jodeen K. Kleveland, 74, of Newman Grove, NE died Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home, Newman Grove, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Holy Family Church in Lindsay, NE with Fr. Stan Schmit officiating. Inurnment for both Jodeen and her husband Cal will take place at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 24th at Hope Cemetery, Newman Grove, NE. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Levander Funeral Home in Newman Grove, NE.

Jodeen Katherine Kleveland, daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Grof) Frickenstein, was born August 3, 1950 at West Point, NE. She received both the sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation at St. Boniface – Monterey, (Country Parish) in West Point, NE. She attended Grade School through the 8th grade at Monterey before going to West Point Central Catholic and graduating with the class of 1968. Following high school, Jodeen went to Norfolk Beauty College and graduated in 1969. Jodeen then worked in Fremont, NE and St. Edward, NE.

On January 11, 1975, Jodeen married Calvin "Cal" Leon Kleveland at St. Edward Catholic Church. The couple lived in Albion, then moved to Newman Grove in 1978. To this union son Brad, and daughter Michelle were born. Jodeen had an in-home daycare for a few years before working as an aide at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove. She worked there until her retirement in 2015.

Jodeen was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, NE. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and tending to her flowers. She had an immense amount of pride and joy for her family.

Jodeen is survived by her son: Brad (Dana) Kleveland of Greenville, MI; daughter: Michelle Classen of Norfolk, NE; four grandchildren: Elyssa (Jordan) Smith of Norfolk, NE; Jadyn Classen of Norfolk, NE: Riley and Kohlson Classen of Wayne, NE;  two great-grandchildren: Oliver and Emerson Smith; two brothers: Ted Frickenstein of Beemer, NE; Bob (Geré) Frickenstein of West Point, NE; sister: Ann Marie (Ferd) Kirchmann of West Point, NE; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Randy (Janice) Kleveland of Newman Grove, NE; Bonnie Gerloff of Newman Grove, NE; Brian Kleveland of Columbus, NE; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Cal Kleveland; sister: Mary Ann; brother: Jim Frickenstein; baby niece: Brenda Jo; sister-in-law: LaVone Frickenstein.
