Jerome A. Greisen

Jerome A. Greisen, 87, of St. Edward, NE, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, NE.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE, with Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Military Services will be conducted by the Crosier American Legion Post #226 of St. Edward, NE. Inurnment will be at Palestine Baptist Cemetery, rural St. Edward, NE at a later date. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Jerome Anthony Greisen, son of Ferd and Elizabeth (Hamling) Greisen was born on October 22, 1931 at Platte Center, Nebraska. He attended a rural Platte County School. On November 24, 1950 Jerome entered the Army National Guard where he served until his honorable discharge on November 23, 1953.

On November 9, 1954 Jerome was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Berlin. They made their home and ran a dairy farm near St. Edward, NE.

Jerome was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church, when the couple moved to St. Edward in 1994 they transferred their membership to the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE. Jerome served on the Beaver Valley Senior Center Board. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with family, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Jerome and Betty played cards and hosted many card parties on the weekends.

Jerome is survived by his wife Betty; two children: Paul (Lynette) Greisen, and Pat (Tim) Leinart all of St. Edward, NE; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Nicole (Shawn) Carraher, Camden and Hudson of Lincoln, NE; Crystal (David) Fitchner, Payton, Parker, and Paisley of St. Edward, NE; Natalie (Jason) Morgan, Faith, Jackson and Maizie of Greenland, MI; Trevor (Amber) Leinart, Christian and Elijah of Hooper, NE; Blake (Kylee) Greisen, Kaden (of Colorado), and Kinlee of Hastings, NE; two brothers: Ralph (Sandi) and Ron (Judy); along with other relatives and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents.
