Jarod Adams

Jarod Adams, 47, of Newman Grove, NE died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Boone County Health Center, Albion, NE.

Funeral services celebrating Jarod's life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Boone County Event Center at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Albion, NE. Burial will follow at Trinity - West Cemetery near Newman Grove, NE. A visitation will be held 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Boone County Event Center in Albion, NE.

Jarod L. Adams, son of Joseph Max and Margaret Kay (Adams) Adams, was born November 20, 1975 at Superior, NE. He moved with his family to O'Neill, NE where he attended elementary school, until they moved to Newman Grove, NE in 1984. Jarod graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1994 and went on to attend Central Community College in Hastings, NE before starting his career in construction.  He moved to Lincoln, NE where he worked in construction and erected cell phone towers. In 2004, he started Troika Communications and continued erecting towers until 2007 when they transitioned to building grain bins and other construction.

Jarod married April Dawn Brown on June 10, 2006 at James Arthur Vineyard near Raymond, NE. They lived in Lincoln until moving their family and business to Newman Grove in 2009.

He was always involved in the community beginning with joining the Newman Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Management in 2010. He and April purchased the Southside Lounge in 2013 and they continue owning and operating it today. Jarod served on the City Council for two years and has been the Mayor of Newman Grove for the past two years. In 2015, Jarod was instrumental in the formation of Fire and Iron Shell Creek Station#102, serving as President for the past four years and the State Representative the past two years.

Jarod lived for riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Rose. He was always there when someone needed him.

He is survived by his wife April of Newman Grove; two daughters: Andrea Adams (Ryan Lomas) of Newman Grove, NE; Mckenzie Lloyd of Lincoln, NE; granddaughter Rose Leann of Lincoln, NE; his father Max Adams of Omaha, NE; his brother Joe (Dee) Adams of Norfolk, NE; his sister Jane (Kevin) Messel of Omaha, NE; two nieces: Morgan Messel and Rachel Messel, both of Omaha, NE; his Fire and Iron brothers; his fellow firefighters; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother Kay Adams in 2019, and his in-laws: James and Martha Brown in 2022.
