Jane Ymara King, daughter of Richard and Magdalen (Beller) Pfeifer, was born on April 19, 1948 in Norfolk, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison. Jane attended elementary school at St. Leonard's Catholic School, and graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1966.
On June 12, 1976 she was united in marriage to Tommy E. King in Madison, NE. The couple lived east of Newman Grove, NE. Jane worked as a dental assistant for Dr. DeBoer in Madison, and several places in Newman Grove including: J & E Grocery, Adams Grocery, Wyant Service Station, and White Star Oil Company.
Jane was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, NE along with the Altar Society there. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club, the Red Hats Society, was an Ombudsman, and served as treasurer for the Madison Alumni. Jane was part of the Newman Grove Fire and Rescue for over 20 years.
Tom and Jane loved going on road trips, and spending time with their grandkids, family, and friends. Some of her other enjoyments were flowers, buffalo, giving the grandchildren crazy holiday socks, making her famous ginger snap cookies for their birthdays, playing cards, especially Canasta and pitch with friends, Hen parties with her sisters, going to her grandchildren's activities, and tanking and tubing trips. This past year, she was so excited when she and Tom got to see Garth Brooks. She loved to help people in any way she could, and if she would have won the lottery, she would have given it all away. Tom would tell her, "Thanks for loving me for 42 years," and she would tell him the same. Tom would say, "I love you." Jane would reply, "I love you more," and Tom would say, "I love you the most!"
Jane is survived by her husband Tommy of Newman Grove, NE; four children: Jodi King (Charlie Hurley) of Grand Island, NE; Thomas (Rhonda) King of Norfolk, NE; Dale (Sara) King of Kearney, NE; Jennifer (Mike) Grape of Albion, NE; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson: Sarah Hurley (fiancé Corby Parker) and their son Cayd; Charlie Hurley, Grant (fiancé Sara Vollbrecht), Mason, and Carter King; Bryce, Madysen, and Cole King; Emma (fiancé Justin Bounds), Dana, William, and Samuel Grape; sister-in-law Mardy Pfeifer of LaVista, NE; siblings: Marvin (JoAnn) Pfeifer of Norfolk, NE, Richard (Leona) Pfeifer of Norfolk, NE; Jack (Joan) Pfeifer of Omaha, NE; Donna (Larry) Christensen of Kearney, NE; Rita (Michael) Lichtenfeld Columbus, NE; Judy (Bob) Arlt of Plainview, NE; Terry (Jane) Pfeifer of Madison, NE; Jerry (Marilee) Pfeifer of Dakota Dunes, SD; Tim (Sue) Pfeifer of Grand Island, NE: Al (Janet) Pfeifer of Madison, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda Leeson of Newman Grove, NE; Karen (Roger) Lyon of Newman Grove, NE; Peg Duhachek (Dean Miller) of Faribault, MN; Bob (Donna) King of Albion, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
