James "Bean" Krohn

James M. "Bean" Krohn, 67 of Albion, NE, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, NE with Fr. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:30-7:00 pm Friday, at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

James Marvin Krohn, son of Marvin James and Marie Catherine (Miller) Krohn, was born August 10, 1954 at Albion, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Church in Albion and grew up on the family farm west of Albion. He attended Boone County District 44 through the fifth grade, St. Michael's Catholic School sixth-eighth grade, and attended Albion High School, graduating in 1972.

On July 11, 1975, Bean married Sandra A. Haave at St. Michael's Church in Albion, NE. They lived several places in the Albion area and were blessed with three children: Krista, Kurt, and Tina. Bean worked for Coash, Helena and farmed with his brothers.

He was a member of St. Michael's Church and the Knights of Columbus. He had a passion for racing that he shared with his brothers, nephews, other family, and friends. He loved farming, hunting, and family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Bean is survived by his wife Sandy of Albion, NE; his children: Krista (Randy) Hooker of Humphrey, NE; Kurt (Anita) Krohn of Petersburg, NE; Tina (John) Novak of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren: Katelyn Krohn, Khloe Hooker, Lane Krohn, Levi Krohn, Rhylan Hooker; Laykin Novak and Elsie Novak; his mother: Marie Krohn of Albion, NE; his sister: Joyce (Larry) Erickson of Albion, NE; two brothers: Mike (Lori) Krohn and Dennis (Laurie) Krohn, both of Albion, NE; In-laws: George Lueken of Albion, NE; Jodi Krohn of Albion, NE; Doug (Amy) Haave of Rapid City, SD; Steve (Cindy) Haave of Arvada, CO; along with several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Krohn; sister Dianna Lueken; two brothers: Dick and Joe Krohn; nephew Jerry Erickson; mother and father-in-law Dolly and Gordon Haave.
