James J. Julich

James "Jim" J. Julich, age 73 of Iowa City died Friday, March 12, 2021, at his home following a time with health issues.

James Joseph Julich was born April 3, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Mathias and Germaine (Henn) Julich. Following graduation from high school in Omaha, he received his BA in English from Creighton University in Omaha, and later his MLS degree from the University of Iowa. Jim has lived in numerous places over his years, from Omaha, Paris, France; Des Moines, IA; Florence, Italy, Nichols, IA and most recently Iowa City. He married Suzanne Munsinger on July 11, 1996, in Iowa City. Jim worked as a Bibliographer for the University of Iowa Libraries for over 20 years.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing at his pond south of Nichols. He appreciated a good book, a fine bottle of wine, and loved being with his family and friends!

His family includes his wife, Suzanne; stepchildren, Colin Olson and Terra Olson; grandchildren, Joyce and Oliver Olson; his sister, Joan Kiernan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Jolene Julich and Patsy Julich. Memorial Mass and burial will take place in May in Petersburg, Nebraska.
