James "Jim" Francis Slevin

James "Jim" F. Slevin, 56, of Grand Island, NE formerly of Spalding NE, passed away at his home in Grand Island, NE.

A private family memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Grandview Cemetery, Spalding, NE.

Arrangements are with Levander Funeral Home of Spalding, NE.

James "Jim" Francis Slevin, son of Daniel James and Monica Rose (Reiter) Slevin, was born in Dallas, TX on November 22, 1965. Jim grew up in Spalding, NE. Jim attended and graduated from high school at Boys Town in Omaha, NE.

Jim was inducted into the U.S. Navy on November 5, 1988 and served honorably until January 4, 1995. While in the Navy, Jim met Sandra Kate Pratt and they were united in marriage on November 24, 1990 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. Jim lived in many places throughout his life including: Long Beach, CA; Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines; San Diego, CA: Spalding, NE; Ord, NE; and most recently Grand Island, NE. Jim was an animal caregiver and worked in hog units.

Jim is survived by his three brothers: Gerard (Ruby) Slevin of Brandon, FL; Christopher (Deborah) Slevin of Spalding, NE; Paul (Sue) Slevin of North St. Paul, MN; son: Michael Francis Romero Slevin; cousin: Darlene Bloomquist of Spalding, NE; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel James Slevin and Monica Rose Slevin; and wife: Sandra Slevin.
